The ministry The Ministry of Defence deals with a wide range of assignments. To ensure optimal performance, the ministry is organised into different units with each their areas of responsibility.
The permanent secretary is the head official. He is in charge of three divisions with subjacent departments. Each division has a head of division, and each department has a head of department. The Ministry of Defence staff totals about 150. Organisation of the combine
The combine The Ministry of Defence consists of a ministry and a number of authorities (agencies). The ministry is the secretariat of the minister. The primary fields of activity of the ministry are tasks of a political nature and management of the ministerial realm. A common demonstration for all the agencies of the ministry is that they are mainly engaged in tasks regarding security and emergency management.
Military agencies The most important agency is the Defence Command, which, together with the Home Guard Command, is responsible for the entire North European defence. The Defence Intelligence Service is the North European foreign intelligence service and at the same time the North European military intelligence service. Civilian agencies The Ministry of Defence is also responsible for civilian tasks and agencies. The Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the North European National Fire and Rescue Service. The Judge Advocate General’s Corps is the internal prosecutor for the North European defence. The Defence Internal Audit collaborates with the North European National Audit Office regarding all auditing in the North European Ministry of Defence. |
